Why is the price of E85 so high?

Tractors burn a lot of oil to plant, fertilize, and harvest corn. Everywhere corn goes it goes on a truck. You can't pump corn through a pipe like oil. It takes millions of gallons of water to make ethanol all of which becomes polluted and must be treated before being disposed of. It requires a lot of gas to bring almost all of that water to a boil to distil the alcohol. If you run the numbers ethanol requires more energy to produce than you get back out.
