If marijuana was legalized controlled and taxed wouldn't it benefit everyone?

Think about it it would reduce crime let the police worry more about murderers and rapists save the government money by reducing the cost of investigating and imprisoning people for possessing/distributing it and make the government more money that could be used for things like education and improving our communities
